Your neighbourhood, only better.

LOKMA is a food-ordering marketplace built around the neighbourhood. It starts in Kadıköy, İstanbul, with the restaurants people already know, and brings them together in one app with honest delivery times and open prices.

Delivery is hybrid: each restaurant delivers with its own courier, with a LOKMA courier, or both. The customer is always told which — on the restaurant card, at checkout and while tracking. The marketplace commission is paid by the restaurant and is never added to the customer’s bill.

Built into the product

Honest tracking, open prices, privacy by design.

Honest tracking

A live map only while a LOKMA courier is carrying the order, with how fresh the location is. Prep time and delivery time are shown separately.

Open prices

Items, discount and who funds it, delivery fee and who delivers, total. A service fee line appears only if there is one.

Privacy by design

Names and phone numbers are masked and calls go through a masked line. The courier sees the full address only after pickup.

Charged only on delivery

The card is pre-authorised with 3-D Secure and charged when the order is completed. If the restaurant declines, the hold is released.

Safe on the road

The courier app never asks for attention while riding: navigation hands off to the phone’s map app, and an untouched offer passes on without penalty.

Problems settled with evidence

Support reviews a late or wrong order and refunds part or all of it. Larger refunds need two people, and every step is in the audit trail.

Two kinds of delivery, told apart

Order on the way with a LOKMA courier: live map, “Live · 10 s ago” and arrival time 22:33
LOKMA courier: live location on the map, labelled with how many seconds old it is.
Order on the way with the restaurant’s own courier: “No live location for this delivery” and the restaurant’s updates
Restaurant’s own courier: no map, the restaurant’s updates instead — and it says so.

Four apps, one platform

Customer, restaurant, courier and the operations team.

LOKMA Müşteri

iOS, Android and mobile web: discovery and search, menus with options, cart and coupons, 3-D Secure checkout, live tracking, reorder, a privacy centre and support.

LOKMA Restoran

Tablet and web console: live orders and a kitchen display, menu, stock and opening hours, delivery settings and couriers, campaigns, documents and weekly payouts.

LOKMA Kurye

iOS and Android: going online, offers with guaranteed gross pay, pickup check with an order code, delivery confirmed with the customer’s four-digit code, earnings.

LOKMA Kontrol

Operations console: live map and dispatch, zones, restaurant and courier applications, support, refunds and payouts, fraud and risk — with role-based access and two-person approvals.

How an order works

  1. Order and pre-authorise

Pick dishes, see every line of the price and confirm. The card is pre-authorised with 3-D Secure; nothing is charged yet.

  2. Prepared and picked up

The restaurant accepts and prepares. A nearby courier is offered the job with guaranteed pay and checks the order code at pickup.

  3. Delivered with a code

The customer gives the courier a four-digit code. Only then is the card charged — less anything that could not be supplied.

How it was built

Four apps and an API, built from an approved design.

A TypeScript monorepo: an API on Fastify, Prisma and PostgreSQL with background jobs and real-time updates over Socket.IO, and four React apps — the customer and courier apps packaged for iOS and Android with Capacitor. Money is calculated in kuruş on the server only, and every order posts to a double-entry ledger.

All 106 designed screens and their 386 states are implemented. The 16 end-to-end flows — ordering, payment, refunds, restaurant and courier onboarding — run as automated tests against a real database, and every screen is checked for WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility in light, dark and high-contrast themes.
